The University of Nebraska - Lincoln (UNL) will be housing approximately 4,000 participating in the 2010 Special Olympics National Games, taking place in and around Lincoln from July 18-23, 2010. While the games themselves will be occurring over five days in July, thousands of people will be arriving in the weeks preceding and departing the week following the games. Kinetic Software is proud to know that UNL will be using our product, KxResidential, to manage the entire on-campus housing process.

We have worked with the UNL staff to develop some new features in Kx that will make the complexity of managing accommodation for such a high volume of people from varying states, competing in varying events with varying on-site needs as simple and streamlined as possible. UNL’s staff will be responsible for all pre-event accommodation arrangements for the thousands staying on the UNL campus. They will also conduct check-in and check-out procedures for on campus guests as well as provide services to these same guests during their stay. All of these tasks will be managed using Kx.

With the total number of participants, coaches and volunteers topping well over 30,000, the 2010 Special Olympics national Games have the largest number of participating athletes of any sporting event in North America this year.
