Understanding the Kx Options: Part 3 – The EPoS and Key Card Interfaces

This week’s options overview covers two similar Kx Options that when used in conjunction with KxResidential add another layer of customer service to your accommodation management.

What do these options do?

The EPoS and KeyCard options are similar in that both have functionality that resides on a plastic card that interfaces with your Kx System. The KeyCard speeds up check-in times by activating the card based on the guest’s room assignment. The EPoS card acts as an inhouse point of sale card for your customer, allowing them to dynamically transfer charges to their account during their stay.

How do the KeyCard and EPoS interfaces work?

The KeyCard interface matches the room allocation to the residential guest and initiates the cards for the door locks at check-it. If the key is lost or stolen, there is a manual de-activation process which also updates the client information in Kx to show the key card has changed.

The EPoS card accompanies your guest through their stay and funnels additional charges back to the Kx system as the guest enjoys  your amenities; bars, restaurants, non-inclusive activities etc. Use the card to channel all charges to one master bill, or break out the resident’s extras into add on charges for an individual group member. Kx keeps track of each transaction, and settles the bill accurately at the end of the stay.

What will these options do to improve my operations?

Both card interfaces will streamline operations and cut down on administration. The KeyCard interface provides real-time management of key allocation, and a faster check-in during peak arrival times.  The EPoS Card simplifies your guest’s ability to take advantage of your services, creating more revenue for your operation while greatly reducing the likelihood of an invoice dispute at check-out.  Both options offer convenience to your client and efficiency for your client and your staff.
